About the Premier League Table
How the standings are calculated and what the positions mean
This is the live Premier League table for the 2026/27 season, updated as each result is confirmed. It shows matches played, won, drawn and lost, goals for and against, goal difference and points for all 20 clubs.
How Positions Are Decided
The Premier League separates clubs on points first, then goal difference, then goals scored. Clubs still level after all three are considered equal in the table, and a play off is only used where a title, European place or relegation depends on it. Three points are awarded for a win and one for a draw.
What the Positions Qualify For
The top four qualify for the UEFA Champions League league phase, with fifth and sixth typically entering the Europa League depending on cup outcomes and England's coefficient in a given season. The bottom three are relegated to the Championship, replaced by that division's top two and its play off winner.
Table and Predictions Together
League position is one of the inputs our model reads, alongside recent form, home and away splits and rest days, though it carries less weight than form because a table reflects a whole season while a prediction concerns one fixture. See this matchday's fixtures for the ratings that will change these standings, results for how the last round settled, and England football predictions for the other seven English competitions.
