How Total Corners Settles
What counts, and what does not
- Over or under a corner line. Lines are usually set between 8.5 and 11.5 for the match.
- Corners awarded but not taken do not count at most bookmakers; the corner must be taken.
- Ninety minutes only. Extra time is excluded unless the bookmaker states otherwise.
- Official match data settles it, which is the source our rating is built from.
Settlement rules vary slightly between bookmakers. Where practice differs we say "most bookmakers"; check the rules of the one you use before placing anything.
About Our Total Corners Predictions
What the market is, how we rate it, where it tends to land and how to use the page
Corner predictions rate the number of corners in a match against the bookmaker line, usually over or under a figure between 8.5 and 11.5. Corners are a different thing from goals: a match can be low scoring and corner heavy if one side attacks the flanks and the other defends deep, and that pattern is more predictable than a goal count, because it comes from how two sides play rather than from a single moment. We rate the fixtures where our expected corner count sits far enough from the line, and list them from the card on the football predictions hub.
How We Rate Corners
From each side's corners for and against, home and away, weighted toward recent matches, which API-Sports supplies as part of the match statistics feed for the leagues we cover. The model produces an expected corner count for the fixture and reads the probability of clearing the line from it. Sides that attack wide and face deep defences produce the most; cautious fixtures between two compact sides produce the fewest. Where the feed does not carry corner data for a competition we do not rate the market, which is why some leagues never appear here. The method is on how we make predictions.
Using the Corner Market
As a single against a compared line. The useful signal is a mismatch in style rather than in quality: a dominant side that creates chances through the middle may produce fewer corners than a mid table side that crosses everything. The head to head page shows the corner counts from recent meetings where the data exists. Corners are also the market least affected by late goals, which makes them a steadier in play bet than the goals lines.
How to Use This Page
The chips above the table switch market. The country and competition selects narrow the table to one competition without leaving the page. The day pills move to tomorrow or the week ahead, and the date picker goes to any day. Every row links to the full fixture page, where the analysis explains the number. When a pick settles it stays on the site with its result, and the market's strike rate on the accuracy page is calculated from that archive, losses included. The football predictions hub carries the same fixtures across every market.
