Percentages are our win probability for home, draw and away, and always total 100. The tip on this page is always Straight Win; the price is the best we found for it. A pick rated 62 percent is expected to lose roughly four times in ten.

How Straight Win Settles

What counts, and what does not

  1. One outcome, ninety minutes. You are backing the home side or the away side to win the match in regulation time plus stoppage time.
  2. A draw loses. Unlike double chance or draw no bet, a level score at full time settles the bet as lost.
  3. Extra time does not count. In a cup tie the market settles on the score after 90 minutes unless the bookmaker states otherwise.
  4. Abandoned matches are void at most bookmakers if the match does not reach full time.

Settlement rules vary slightly between bookmakers. Where practice differs we say "most bookmakers"; check the rules of the one you use before placing anything.

About Our Straight Win Predictions

What the market is, how we rate it, where it tends to land and how to use the page

Straight win predictions are the plainest call in football: which side wins the match. It is the market most bettors start with, the one every bookmaker prices first, and the one where a probability is easiest to judge, because the three outcomes always add up to one. On this page we list the fixtures where our model rates one side to win outright, with the probability and the best price we found. The same fixtures sit across all twenty markets on the football predictions hub.

How We Rate a Match Winner

Every straight win pick is read straight off the 1X2 probabilities you see in the table. The model builds an attack and defence rating for each side from results, goals scored and conceded, home and away splits, rest days and weighted recent form, then adjusts for confirmed absences. From those two ratings it produces a home win, draw and away win probability that total 100. We rate a straight win only when one of the two win probabilities clears our threshold for the market; a 48 percent home side is not a straight win pick, it is a fixture where the draw is live. The method is set out on how we make predictions.

Why the Draw Is the Enemy

The draw is what separates this market from the two way sports. Around a quarter of top flight matches finish level, more in some leagues than others, and that quarter is the reason a 60 percent side can still lose a straight win bet two matches in five. A big favourite at home is the classic pick here. The harder calls, and the ones with better prices, are away sides in form against mid table opponents, where the market often underrates the visitor. If the draw worries you, draw no bet refunds your stake on a level score and double chance covers it outright, both at a shorter price.

Where Straight Win Picks Come From

Strong favourites cluster in the leagues with the widest gap between top and bottom. The Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga produce short priced home wins most weekends. African leagues such as the NPFL carry stronger home advantage than Europe, so the home side is the pick more often but at prices that reflect it. Cup ties between different tiers are the richest source of away win calls, because the stronger side travels and the market still prices the home crowd.

Reading the Probability Against the Price

A price of 1.57 implies roughly 64 percent once the bookmaker margin is included. If our figure for the same side reads 70, the gap is in your favour; if it reads 58, the market knows something. We do not publish expected value, because an honest figure needs every outcome price with the margin removed, but comparing the two numbers is the one habit that matters. The odds and terminology guide covers implied probability in full.

How to Use This Page

The chips above the table switch market. The country and competition selects narrow the table to one competition without leaving the page. The day pills move to tomorrow or the week ahead, and the date picker goes to any day. Every row links to the full fixture page, where the analysis explains the number. When a pick settles it stays on the site with its result, and the market's strike rate on the accuracy page is calculated from that archive, losses included. The football predictions hub carries the same fixtures across every market.

Frequently Asked Questions

What people ask about straight win predictions.

Question 1

How do you predict a straight win?

Answer 1From the 1X2 probabilities the model produces for every fixture. We rate a side for a straight win only when its win probability clears our threshold for the market and the price still carries value after the bookmaker margin. The inputs are results, goals for and against, home and away splits, rest days, weighted recent form and confirmed absences. The full method is on how we make predictions.
Question 2

Do you have sure straight win predictions for today?

Answer 2No. Nobody does, and a site that says it does is selling something. We publish the probability on every straight win pick, and a 75 percent pick still loses one match in four. The high confidence page lists today's strongest calls with their probabilities, which is the honest version of "sure".
Question 3

How many straight win teams are there today?

Answer 3It changes with the fixture list. The count in the heading above the table is today's figure, and the table lists every one. On a full league weekend it runs to dozens; on a quiet midweek it can be a handful.
Question 4

What are straight win odds?

Answer 4The bookmaker price on one side to win the match outright. On a strong favourite they sit between about 1.20 and 1.50; on an away side in form they can be above 2.00. The odds column shows the best price we found for each pick, and the probability column shows what we think the true chance is, so you can compare the two.
Question 5

What does straight win mean?

Answer 5That one named side wins the match in 90 minutes plus stoppage time. A draw loses. It is the same selection as home win or away win on the 1X2 market.
Question 6

Is straight win the same as 1X2?

Answer 6No. It is one third of it. The 1X2 market has three outcomes, home, draw and away. A straight win is the home or away selection on that market, priced on its own.
Question 7

Does extra time count for a straight win bet?

Answer 7No. Unless the bookmaker says so. Match result markets settle on 90 minutes plus stoppage time. In a cup tie decided after extra time or penalties the bet settles on the score at the end of normal time.
Question 8

What is a good probability for a straight win?

Answer 8There is no single number. We rate the side, publish the figure, and leave the judgement to you. A pick at 70 percent is expected to lose three times in ten; a pick at 55 is closer to a coin toss with an edge.
Question 9

Why do you not just predict the favourite every time?

Answer 9Because the price on a favourite already contains the market's view. We rate a straight win when our probability clears the implied probability of the price by a margin, which sometimes means the favourite and sometimes does not.
Question 10

How is straight win different from draw no bet?

Answer 10Draw no bet refunds your stake if the match is level at full time. Straight win does not. The price on straight win is longer for that reason.
Question 11

Are the Straight Win predictions free?

Answer 11Yes. Every prediction on this site is free, with no paid tier, no VIP group, no subscription and no account needed to view anything.
Question 12

What time are Straight Win predictions posted?

Answer 12By 06:00 West Africa Time each day, then revised when confirmed team news lands. The last updated stamp at the top of the page shows the latest revision.
Question 13

How accurate are the Straight Win predictions?

Answer 13We publish the settled record rather than a marketing figure. Every pick stays on the site after the result, wins and losses, and the strike rate on the accuracy page is calculated from that archive.
Question 14

Can I convert a Straight Win slip to another bookmaker?

Answer 14Yes. Build the slip anywhere, then paste the booking code into the booking code converter to rebuild the same selections on any of the bookmakers we support.
