How Both Teams To Score Settles

What counts, and what does not

  1. Each side scores at least once. The result does not matter. A 1-1 wins, a 3-1 wins, a 2-0 loses.
  2. Own goals count for the side credited with the goal in the official result, not the side that scored it.
  3. Ninety minutes only. Extra time and penalties are excluded unless the bookmaker states otherwise.
  4. A 0-0 or any clean sheet settles the bet as lost.

Settlement rules vary slightly between bookmakers. Where practice differs we say "most bookmakers"; check the rules of the one you use before placing anything.

About Our Both Teams To Score Predictions

What the market is, how we rate it, where it tends to land and how to use the page

Both teams to score predictions, usually shortened to BTTS, answer a different question from the over and under markets. It is not how many goals, but whether each side gets at least one. A 1-1 wins it and a 3-0 loses it, which is why BTTS lands in fixtures that the goals markets miss: two modest attacks against two leaky defences, where the total may be low but neither side keeps a clean sheet. We rate every fixture on the football predictions hub for BTTS and list the ones that clear the threshold here.

How We Rate BTTS

From the expected goals figure for each side separately, rather than the combined total. The probability that each side scores at least once is read from its own distribution, and BTTS is the product of the two. A fixture qualifies when both figures are high enough together, which usually means a weak defence rating on each side rather than a strong attack on either. Confirmed absences at centre back or in goal push a fixture onto this page; a missing striker on one side pulls it off, because that side may not score at all. The method is on how we make predictions.

Where BTTS Lands

Open leagues where defending is optional: the Bundesliga and the Eredivisie again, and mid table fixtures in the Premier League where both sides attack. It lands less often in low scoring football, including most African league fixtures, where one clean sheet is the norm, and in mismatches where the weaker side rarely scores. A derby between two mid table sides is classic BTTS territory; a title challenger at home to a relegation side is not, however many goals the favourite scores.

BTTS and the Goals Markets

BTTS is often priced close to over 1.5 and means something different, so compare them on the same fixture. If both sides score, over 1.5 has landed; the reverse is not true. BTTS and Over 2.5 combines this market with a total for a longer price. If you want one side to score and the other not to, clean sheet is the opposite bet, and correct score names the exact result.

How to Use This Page

The chips above the table switch market. The country and competition selects narrow the table to one competition without leaving the page. The day pills move to tomorrow or the week ahead, and the date picker goes to any day. Every row links to the full fixture page, where the analysis explains the number. When a pick settles it stays on the site with its result, and the market's strike rate on the accuracy page is calculated from that archive, losses included. The football predictions hub carries the same fixtures across every market.
